Too Much Fun!

We have enjoyed spending some time with my aunt DeeDee and Uncle Brad while we have been here. They live in Roswell, and we don't get to see them as much as we would like. Yesterday we had lunch with them in town, went to their beautiful condo and then they came over while the kids took a much needed nap. Today we had brunch with them at the country club. It sounds like we might get to see them in 2 weeks in Fort Worth and we can't wait!!!
My mom went to pick up my dad in El Paso last night. He flew in from Rome, and this is the first time he has seen the kids since April! I cannot even begin how to describe how excited Carter was to see him! We look forward to hanging out with him over the next two weeks!
The kids got a little antsy after brunch so we took them outside to play next to the golf course. It was beautiful, and I couldn't help taking a few pictures of my pretty girl (Carter was in meltdown mode and wanted nothing to do with getting his picture taken).
Ally has turned into a monkey. All she wanted to do is climb up on this step and look out over the pond.

After naps we headed to the pool, which we thought would be really cold. However, it was actually pretty warm, even though Carter didn't think so. I didn't take Ally's suit because I thought it would be too cold for her, but she ended up swimming in just her diaper. I'm sure all the old people around thought we were great parents!
Ally can change from a monkey to a fish in no time at all!
It was getting cloudy, but I think it is a nice view anyway!
The kids were cold when we got home from swimming so I just let them put their jammies on. After dinner we all went on a walk in our jammies to look for deer and bears (my parents saw one last night when they got home from El Paso!). The last time we were here my brother and I saw two bears while we were riding the 4-wheelers...I'm not really sure what we'd do if we actually saw one while we were walking!!!

Ruidoso

I love the mountains!!! It is absolutely beautiful here, especially since they've had a lot of rain this summer.
Here we are at Popo's in Roswell...yummy!!! If you are ever in Roswell, you HAVE to stop here and eat. I recommend the stuffed sopapillas!
Our refuge for the week (I keep threatening Sam that I am just going to stay here permanently!).
There are lots of deer around, and this is a mama I got a picture of at sunset. Her twin babies were following close behind.

Our first walk...can you tell I was a little excited it was 55 outside?!?!
We started out blowing bubbles on the porch until a little boy "accidentally" dumped the entire bottle onto the ground. Since we're on vacation, I let them play in it, which they really, really enjoyed doing for some reason!
Yesterday we had "buggy" races up and down the hall. It was Carter and Mommy against Ally and GaGa.
Ally and Carter pouting about having to get back into the car to drive to Roswell today. It is about an hour and twenty minutes too long for them!

We made it to Ruidoso on Wednesday afternoon after a long day of driving. It wasn't a horrible trip, but it wasn't great, either. After an hour in the car, both kids started fussing, but we made it to Sweetwater, stopped at McDonald's and then plugged in the DVD player. Ally finally slept for about 45 minutes, but the rest of the time she was awake and wanting to be entertained. Carter did great after we turned on a movie!

We are having so much fun already. The weather is great (high low-mid 80s and lows around 55-60) so we have been playing outside a lot. We went to Roswell today to pick up Sam from the airport, and while we were there we got to eat lunch at my favorite Mexican food restaurant with my Aunt DeeDee, Uncle Brad, Great Aunt Patt and Great Uncle Gerri. It was great to see them, and it was the first time they had met Ally! We also got to stop and meet some brand-new baby twin girls (some family friends). It was great to see everyone, and it made me wish that we lived closer to everyone so that we could see them more often!

The kids haven't been sleeping very well, and I am hoping that it will be better tonight. Last night I felt like I had a newborn because one of them was up almost every hour for some reason or another. I am blaming it on the altitude, but I know it is just because we have messed up their schedules and they are just really tired from all the excitement! We don't have to go anywhere for the rest of the week so hopefully that will help a little.

Happy Birthday, GaGa!!!

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful mom, and the kids couldn't ask for a better grandmother! We love you so much, Gaga, and hope that you have a wonderful day! We can't wait to see you in a few hours!

Cruisin'

The kids and I made a trip to College Station last week to hang out and wait for their cousin, Connor, to make his appearance! We had a really good time, and we were happy that we were there on Wednesday when Connor was born. We are gearing up for our trip to Ruidoso on Wednesday, Aggie football on August 30 and Ally's 1st birthday on September 4! My camera battery is charging right now so that I can be ready for everything that happens between now and then!
