The Ice Storm

As you can see, there was ice everywhere when we woke up today! Carter didn't have school, and Sam got to go in a few hours late! When Carter looked outside he was so excited it "snowed," but wanted to know why Santa didn't come! Ally didn't mind playing outside on the ice, but Carter only lasted a few minutes before he said it was too cold and bolted for the door...a true Texan!

Ice, Ice Baby (Too Cold!)

I guess all the hype of an ice storm is becoming a reality. Here is what our deck and front yard look like after about 30 minutes of it tonight. I'm sure I'll have better pictures to post tomorrow!

My First Blog Award!

One of my friends decided that, for some crazy reason, I deserve an award for my blog! I really appreciate her thinking of me, and although my blog isn't creative (I'm lacking that gene) or nearly as humorous as hers, I decided to accept her award and get to blogging (even though it was given nearly a week ago!). Thanks, Gini!

So, here it goes...I am supposed to list six things I am thankful for and why:

- I am thankful for my children, who can make me laugh, cry or want to go insane all in the same day! It is a privilege to be their mommy, and I thank God for them every day!

-I am thankful for my husband, who loves me no matter what (or at least says he does!).

-I am thankful for my family: my mom for being my best friend; my dad for being my hero; and my brother for everything in between.

-I am thankful for new and old friends, especially those who call to check up on me, and who will still be there for me even when I'm not at my best!

-I am thankful for running (did I actually just write that???). It is a new "hobby," and although I haven't really gotten to the point of loving it, it has helped me get through our recent move and gave me a much needed goal to focus on.

-I am thankful for choices and opportunities...because not everyone has them!

Now I get to pass the award on:

1. Rebecca

2. Dawn

3. Jessica

One Proud Mommy

Today Carter got his "Progress Report" at school and I just have to brag on him!

Here is what he can do:

count to 12
identify all colors
name 24 capital letters
knows the sounds of 25 capital letters

I know this isn't a big deal to normal people, but as a former kindergarten teacher, I am so proud of him! I had kids in my class who couldn't even do this!

Random Pictures

Carter and Ally wearing their new sunglasses before our walk today.

Carter and Ally at "work" in his room this morning.

Carter on the Medal Stand at The Little Gym. It was the last class of the semester, and the kids got to have a "Show Day" for the parents.

Carter demonstrating some of his football skills.

This is what I found the other night after I took a shower...Carter and Ally playing boxing on the Wii while their father cheered them on!

My Little Diva

The Fire Station

While we were in College Station over the holidays, we made a trip to the fire station to visit Uncle Nathaniel and check out the fire trucks. I don't know who was more excited...Carter or Uncle Justin!

Happy New Year

Things have been a little hectic around here since 2009. Between December 26-January 3, we had 4 visits to the pediatrician. I'm not exactly sure why it took them so long to realize that the kids were sick, but that's another story. Carter ended up having croup and bronchitis, while Ally had an ear infection, sinus infection, sore throat and pink eye. Let's just say it has been a long month so far.

The website I use for my backgrounds has been down, so I feel like I haven't been able to update my blog (yes, I'm a little OCD). I just read that it will be another week until they are up and running again, so I am going to have to suck it up and leave it as is for now. I will try and work on getting some new pictures and posts up here soon...I know everyone has been eagerly awaiting an update from us! Ha!

Happy New Year from The Noynaerts!
