Sweet Cousins

I love that the kids are so close in age to their cousins, Kaylie and Connor. Ally loves dressing up and playing princess with Kaylie, while Carter loves to play cars and tractors with Connor!

Road Trip

A couple of weeks ago my mom and I decided to take the kids on a road trip to Brenham to visit the Bluebell factory and eat at the airport. It was lots of fun and a great way to spend a hot summer morning! The kids thought the best part of the Bluebell tour was eating the ice cream...and I agree!!
After eating our delicious ice cream, we decided to eat at the airport even though none of us were hungry. It was a really cute place, where the waitresses even wear poodle skirts!

Carter and Ally really enjoyed watching the planes (and helicopter) land and take off!

It was so much fun that we can't wait to do it again soon!

The Celebration Continues...

After we got home from the reunion, someone had the great idea of going to get fireworks to shoot off at my mom's house. The only things the kids (mostly Carter) was interested in was getting the snaps that you throw on the ground and make noise. I think they went through 6 boxes in less than 30 minutes!

Ally was so girly when she threw her snaps that most of them didn't even make a noise when she dropped them!

I thought the pink smoke bomb was really neat, but the kids just kept saying that it was stinky!

The kids think that if they are at Gaga's house they need ice cream...so we took a little break and enjoyed the treat!

Carter thought the fireworks were really neat and wanted in on the action right away. Ally, on the other hand, had to be held and covered her ears most of the time!

The next day, July 4, we went to church and had a picnic. After naps we went over to a family friend's house for swimming and ribs!! This was Carter (and Ally's) first time to jump off a diving board!

It was late, but we decided to take the kids to the firework show up on campus. It was their first time to see "big" fireworks and the anticipation was more than they could handle!

It was a great weekend with lots of family time (one of my favorite things!). Happy Fourth of July (a little late!).

Sam's Family Reunion

Every year Sam's family has a reunion on the weekend closest to July 4th at his grandmother's lake house, and it is usually VERY hot! Thankfully, this year the rain kept things on the cooler side and made it much more tolerable! It is always good to see everyone and catch up with his aunts, uncles and cousins in such a relaxed setting!

As you can tell from the pictures, the kids finally caught my love of fishing! I think they fished almost the entire time we were there, and they have already asked when we can go fishing again!
