What a Week!!!

We had a crazy week around our house, so I am happy that today is the beginning of a new one! Monday I thought I was coming down with a sinus infection, which is when Sam informs me he didn't feel good either! On Tuesday I went to my "Mommy Boot Camp," fell down during the tire drills, and ended up at the doctor's office with a stage 2 sprained ankle! The rest of the week just went downhill from there...we all have pretty good colds now, my ankle is still swollen and Carter has developed a fear of the dark so he is waking up frequently during the night! Whew! Let's hope this week is better!

I do have some good news, though! Tonight when we were reading a book, Carter pointed to the letters "I, N, O and Y!" He also told us what sound "N" says! I know what you're thinking...who cares, right!?!?! But, you have to remember that I was a kindergarten teacher and I had many kids in my class who came to school not knowing this stuff! Don't worry, I don't sit and drill him all day, he has learned most of it from his letters on the dishwasher! Can you tell I'm a proud mama???

Carter's Tools

Carter loves to use the tools that Santa brought him to "fix" things. We have learned to carefully watch what he wants to "fix" after several projects didn't go as he planned! I love that he takes after Sam and thinks of wearing his safety glasses before starting any construction/destruction!

Aggie Baseball

One of our favorite things to do is cheer for the Aggies at baseball games. I think the kids enjoy going, too! These are pictures from Ally's first game. Carter was the same age when he went to his first Aggie baseball game two years ago! Notice how Ally wants to eat some popcorn like her big brother!

Growing Too Fast

Things have been so crazy around here lately that I have had a hard time sitting at the computer long enough to update the blog!

There was a couple next to us at church today with a six week old baby girl. As we were sitting there, I couldn't help but stare at that sweet baby and think about how fast our kids are growing and changing. I know everyone says it, but it seems like just yesterday we were in that same position: sitting in church with a brand new baby nervously listening to the sermon in hopes that he wouldn't start crying right in the middle of it. Now we have two blessings, and although Ally is only 5 1/2 months, it seems like so long ago that she was that little (well, I don't think she was EVER as little as that baby)! Time is passing right before our eyes, and as much as I don't want to admit it to myself, my babies are growing up! I wish we could freeze time, but since we can't, I am trying to cherish each memory and stage because I know it will pass too quickly!

In other news, the weather is finally nice and we have been able to spend some time outside, which both kids enjoy. Aggie baseball season started this weekend, and I am proud to say that we were able to attend two games! Carter LOVED going to the games. He liked watching the players and the people, but most of all he liked eating the food (he takes after me for sure!). We also signed a contract on a house in Fort Worth today. It is near TCU and has a huge yard for the kids to play in. We are excited, but anxious, to be getting closer to actually making this move a reality!

Fun Times Around Here

Ok, not really! Carter woke up last night at 1:00am with croup. I finally managed to get him settled and back in bed after 2.5 hours, only to have Ally wake up wanting to eat at 5:00am! I took Carter to the doctor to get him checked out (really just to ease my mind about not taking him to the ER last night), only to find out that he has the flu!!! I was totally shocked because he didn't have ANY signs of having it...until I left him with my mom and went out to eat with some friends for dinner. I guess he had a serious meltdown while I was gone (sorry Mom!). Let's just hope that it doesn't get any worse, and that Ally doesn't catch it! Oh...did I forget to mention that Sam went back to work yesterday!?!?!

The Coolest Kids in Town
