Ruidoso

I love the mountains!!! It is absolutely beautiful here, especially since they've had a lot of rain this summer.
Here we are at Popo's in Roswell...yummy!!! If you are ever in Roswell, you HAVE to stop here and eat. I recommend the stuffed sopapillas!
Our refuge for the week (I keep threatening Sam that I am just going to stay here permanently!).
There are lots of deer around, and this is a mama I got a picture of at sunset. Her twin babies were following close behind.

Our first walk...can you tell I was a little excited it was 55 outside?!?!
We started out blowing bubbles on the porch until a little boy "accidentally" dumped the entire bottle onto the ground. Since we're on vacation, I let them play in it, which they really, really enjoyed doing for some reason!
Yesterday we had "buggy" races up and down the hall. It was Carter and Mommy against Ally and GaGa.
Ally and Carter pouting about having to get back into the car to drive to Roswell today. It is about an hour and twenty minutes too long for them!

We made it to Ruidoso on Wednesday afternoon after a long day of driving. It wasn't a horrible trip, but it wasn't great, either. After an hour in the car, both kids started fussing, but we made it to Sweetwater, stopped at McDonald's and then plugged in the DVD player. Ally finally slept for about 45 minutes, but the rest of the time she was awake and wanting to be entertained. Carter did great after we turned on a movie!

We are having so much fun already. The weather is great (high low-mid 80s and lows around 55-60) so we have been playing outside a lot. We went to Roswell today to pick up Sam from the airport, and while we were there we got to eat lunch at my favorite Mexican food restaurant with my Aunt DeeDee, Uncle Brad, Great Aunt Patt and Great Uncle Gerri. It was great to see them, and it was the first time they had met Ally! We also got to stop and meet some brand-new baby twin girls (some family friends). It was great to see everyone, and it made me wish that we lived closer to everyone so that we could see them more often!

The kids haven't been sleeping very well, and I am hoping that it will be better tonight. Last night I felt like I had a newborn because one of them was up almost every hour for some reason or another. I am blaming it on the altitude, but I know it is just because we have messed up their schedules and they are just really tired from all the excitement! We don't have to go anywhere for the rest of the week so hopefully that will help a little.
