It has been pretty cold and wet around here lately, which isn't a good combination for a little boy who LOVES the outdoors. Needless to say, we have a little bit of cabin fever. Here are some pictures of how Carter decided to entertain himself today.

Updates
This is a picture of Carter trying to feed Ally her applesauce. I think she was a little scared of Carter holding a spoon so close to her face! He did manage to get one bite in her mouth, but he also got most of the spoon down her throat at the same time!
Ally is saying, "Please do NOT let him feed me!" I keep telling her that he just needs more practice, but she's doesn't buy it!
All of the sudden, Ally decided that she didn't like her hands swaddled anymore, and this is how I would find her when she would wake up several times during the night! Two nights ago we began weaning her off the swaddle. She is still waking up once during the night, but it is better than 2-3 times! I keep telling her that her brother was sleeping like a champ by now but it isn't helping persuade her to sleep any better!
Carter and Ally were bonding on the couch one day. From the looks of things, it won't be long until Miss Ally can beat up her older brother!

Chaos
The kids and I made a short trip to Central Park to feed the ducks. This was our first time to feed the ducks, and needless to say, it won't be our last!
I kept wondering what would happen if Carter decided to try and swim with the ducks! He was actually very good about not getting too close to the water (maybe because I reminded him about every 30 seconds!). I'm not too overprotective, am I?
Ally was playing on the floor in the kitchen while I was cooking dinner and Carter decided to join her. They played together the entire time I cooked. I didn't even hear "no, mine" too many times!

Post-Holiday Blues and Big News
I have to admit that I have a pretty good case of the post-holiday blues this year. I don't know if it is because December was so much fun, and full of so many activities, that now I am left wondering what we're going to do back in reality, or if it because of all the changes that are occurring all at once in our lives!
My dad and mom and are leaving for Rome, Italy tomorrow morning so that my dad can begin his new job with FAO. I am excited for him and this once in a lifetime opportunity, but selfishly I don't want him to leave because we are going to miss him so much. My mom will only be gone 12 days, which will feel MUCH longer, but we are not sure when we will see my dad next. We have talked about taking everyone over there in the spring, but I am just not sure it will be possible because...
After many prayers, and lots of tears, Sam has decided to take a new job with another company located in Fort Worth. It is a great opportunity for him, and he won't have to travel as much, but it means that we are having to leave our friends and family, and basically everything we know, to move. He will still have to work for two more weeks with BP (he leaves Wednesday) and then he will rotate with EOG Resources for three or four months. There is a strong possibility that he will be gone for the entire month of January! Just thinking about him being gone that long is enough to drive me a little crazy. Luckily, my mom will be home on January 12 so I can make her come and hang out with us when she gets back to College Station!
