The Green Beast

Here are some pictures of the new wagon Gaga got the kids to use in Fort Worth, because for some reason (Ally), the other one never got moved with us. I have never seen a kid who loves riding in a wagon as much as she does, and Gaga thought it would be nice to have when it starts getting cooler, and wagons seem to be the thing to take with you to the zoo!

The wagon came with seat belts, which Sam and I thought was kind of silly, so we didn't install them when we (I mean, he) put it together. Well, I'm sure you can guess what happened...tonight we were leisurely walking along, enjoying the evening, when all of the sudden we heard the scream. I immediately turned around to see my daughter sprawled out, face first, in the road!!! I guess she will learn to sit in the wagon, and we will learn that things are included in the package for a reason!

Cousins

This weekend we had the opportunity to spend some time with Rebecca, Kaylie and Conner. Carter and Kaylie had fun making mud pies, and we all enjoyed getting to hold baby Conner! I'm so glad that they were able to come over and see us while we were in town for the game!

The Ride Home

Our trip home was so nice because Carter slept almost the entire way (I guess that is what happens when you are two, have a sinus infection and spend the weekend with grandparents), and although Ally woke up at her usual spot (the Waco exit), she was in a good mood the rest of the way!

Aggie Game Day

Here are some pics of the kids before the Aggie game this weekend. No, they didn't attend, but they sure were cute in their Aggie outfits!

We got this John Deere tractor for Carter last year right after Ally was born, and we thought he was going to love it since he was really into tractors at the time. However, he refused to get near it after we showed him that he could drive it by himself...until today, when his 1 year-old sister got on it, pushed the pedal, stood up and took off. She LOVED driving it, and she drove it all over the yard while smiling and laughing hysterically! Carter then decided that he would drive it, too, but only if Ally was in the trailer.

Home Sweet Home

Ally was a little concerned the other day when I started unpacking my suitcase. I think we were gone for almost an entire month, either in Ruidoso or College Station. Thanks to the Aggies (no game this weekend), we are getting to spend a weekend at home! We have big plans to clean out the garage, if anyone wants to stop by and help! And believe me, we need all the help we can get!

In other news, Carter loves school. The first day I went to pick him up the teacher told me that Carter went tee-tee in the potty. I thought she meant the other Carter in his class, but she assured me that it was my Carter. I know most of you are reading this and thinking, "who cares," but this was huge news in the Noynaert house. You see, Carter has been adamantly against any type of potty training, and we were convinced that he would be going to college wearing Depends. Every night before his bath, and a few other random times, he has asked to go potty and actually done it! I don't know if it is the thrill of flushing his tee-tee down the toilet, watching mommy do the "happy dance," or getting his two chocolate chips for going, but whatever it is, I am one happy mama!!! Ally will be off of formula this weekend, and maybe, just maybe, Carter will be out of diapers by the time he goes to kindergarten! Hip-hip hooray!

Ally's First Cake

Sam stopped by Central Market on his way home from work and got Ally a special birthday cupcake. Here she is eating it after we went out to dinner (she said she wanted to go to Joe T. Garcia's for her birthday!).

Back to School

Here is a picture of Carter's first day of school last year. Gaga and Grandad had to take him because I had just given birth to Ally a few hours earlier!
A picture from today...ready to go!
Carter showing off his new race car lunch box! He was so excited!

Today was Carter's first day of school. He will go Mondays and Thursdays this year, and he absolutely loves it! His teacher even told me that he went tee-tee on the potty today...yippee!

Happy 1st Birthday, Ally!

Words cannot describe the emotions I am feeling today. It has been a roller-coaster, from elation that my baby girl finally made it through that tough first year, to "now we don't have a baby anymore!" On one hand, I can't wait until she starts walking, talking and acting more like a toddler, and on the other hand, I don't want my baby girl to get any bigger than she is now! What a day!

I had this big plan to make a photo slide-show of pictures from her first year, but it turns out I just didn't have time to do it. Here is a picture from the day she was born, and another from a few weeks ago. Wow, she has certainly grown!

Ally is such a joy! She has a very strong personality, and she isn't afraid to show it! She is everything I hoped for and so much more! I can't wait to see what God has in store for her! Happy Birthday to my sweet girl!

We Made It Back...Barely!

Our trip was going so well that I knew something just had to happen, and it did! We ended up taking Ally to the Ruidoso Emergency Room because I could tell something wasn't right...not eating, not sleeping well, extremely fussy...and I was right. Double ear-infection and very red throat. At least they got us in and out fairly quickly, for an emergency room!
Ally did as well as she could of considering the circumstances. Here she is waiting to see the doctor.
The ride home was LONG!!!! We decided to go straight to College Station so we could attend the first Aggie game, which was probably not the best idea with a little girl who doesn't feel well and doesn't like sleeping in the car! It was a tough 14 hours!!! Carter managed to stay in pretty good spirits as long as the DVD player was working.
Here is a picture of Ally taking one of her two mini naps on the trip home.

After our disappointing loss to Arkansas St., and Hurricane Gustav lurking in the Gulf, we decided to go ahead and evacuate to Fort Worth on Sunday, even though Sam wanted to stay for opening day of dove season. I promised him he can go every other time we're there to cheer on the Aggies...hopefully next game we won't run out of time! :)
